The
main focus of the meeting was a talk by John Bennett, Chairman the Telford
branch of Advanced Motorcyclist's Institute. It was a very informative
evening where John set out the structure of the group and its under-lining
principles and philosophy. John spoke in depth about the actual test and the
advantages resulting from it. The talk finished with a question and answer
session which raised some interesting points, especially about how we ride.
In addition to John's talk, we discussed our new
starting venue. All thought it was fine and so we'll be using that the
future runs.
April's run will be to Bourton on the Water on
Sunday 20th April starting at 8.30am. The route will take us to Much Wenlock
towards Bridgnorth. After that we take some lovely country roads across the
Bewdley and Stourport. We will have our breakfast stop at the Little Chef on
the A449 south of Kidderminster. The run continues over to Pershore and
across country to Bourton on the Water. There's a great deal to see and do
there, including a motor museum, a miniature village and a Flamingo
sanctuary. It is also a great place to have lunch!
The bowling night was most enjoyable added to which
we made over £26 for charity. Thank you to all those who made it such a good
evening. For our next meeting we thought we could look at future social
events. In the meantime if you have any ideas or suggestions please do bring
them along to the meeting in May, or e-mail
Michael. It would be very much
appreciated. The club continues to grow with several more new members at
April's meeting.
